Produced between 2003 and 2007, the Suzuki SV 1000 was launched to compete with the 1 litre Italian v-twin bikes. Made upon a SV 650 base, she also used elements from the GSX-R 600 and the TL 1000 S. It's the engine of this latter model, in a softer version, which was incorporated in the Suzuki SV 1000. Since 2008, Suzuki only its 650 cc engine for the SV then the Gladius (new in 2009).
