A few weeks ago, I was ordered an artwork about a Yamaha R6. The 6th birthday of Mon petit atelier is an excellent occasion to put the " step by step" on line.
The project was described like this : "My friend is passionate about racing bikes. He trains as often as possible. He dreams of having a picture of him on his bike. I would like to gift it to him. Please note that my friend is a Danishman and this country means much to him."
1st step : The rough sketch
My idea : a main model with watercolours and India ink on the foreground and a light watercolour on the background representing the bike with a danish flag on the fairing.
"I like your rough sketch. I'm really impatient to see the final result and the idea of the flag is great, especially that he considers to make his bike decorated this way."
Now, I can start my work.
2nd step : The layout
3rd step : The drawing gum
4th step : The shades
5th step : The first colours
6th step : The colours are finished.
7th step : Without drawing gum
8th step : Before inking.
"I got well your artwork and want to say to you that how much my friend enjoys it. He finds it very realistic."
Mission accomplished.
