Step by step - Birth of a logo
11/25/2007

Most often, I make realistic watercolours but I like to make humourous Ddrawings too. See !

The definition of the project : "I would like to make a logo bacause my friends and I want to found our club. The logo would be an ant on a sportbike braking very hard, half side view by preferences, humourous style. The ant can have bulging eyes."

First preparatory work : "Your drawing isn't so bad. About the position, the best would be an exaggerated braking with a discorted bike". Well, I go back to work ;-)
Second rough sketch. It's a hard braking but too on the side view.
Third try. It will be the base of the final drawing. "The ant would be better naked (So I have to get his leather off. It's not very cautious but, anyway, she had no helmet...), and his abdomen is missing. The head with more humourous expression...
After a more detailed work on the bike, I get a pretty clear layout.
I add the character (the ant). I've worked on the face expressions.
Little game : can you find the differences between this drawing and the one above (no more tag and flashers plus a modifiaction of the seat fairing).
"I showed the drawing to my friends. They said to me it was super (thanks) and that a helmet was missing. Is it possible to give one to the ant ?" Sure it's possible. As bonus, I add boots too. And here's the final layout.
I put India ink on the drawing...
...and the drawing is finished.
