Standard bikes

After three MotoGP campaigns, Troy Bayliss made a successful return in World Superbikes. Any of his contenders could block his path : Troy Corser, the reigning champion, bothered by technical problems, James Toseland, discovering the Honda CBR, and Noriyuki Haga, in lack of competitiveness, could only bear the law of the prodigal son.
In World Supersport, Sébastien clinched his second title in a row at the end of a dramatic race : Kevin Curtain, ahead of the provisional standings, crashed and let the way free for the Frenchman.
