Ten years after his first World Superbike championship win (1996 with Ducati), Troy Corser doubled at the end of the 2005' season. The last Suzuki GSX-R proved that it was a frightening machine (Endurance world champion too). Troy Corser's teamate, Yukio Kagayama started this season the best way (wi in Qatar race 2) but ended the championship at the fifth place, passe by Chris Vermeulen (Honda), Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha) and the 2004' Champion James Toseland (Ducati).
In World Supersport category, French rider Sébastien Charpentier dominated (six wins and two second place) won his first championship and offered to his Dutch team Ten Kate a fourth consecutive title.
