MotoGP : Casey Stoner and his RCV 212 Honda machinera have composed a formidable duet in 2011. The Australian rider has finished all the races on the podium and taken 10 wins. Even if Jorge Lorenzo never laid down his arms, he's been forced to let his champion plate away. Consistent, Andrea Dovizioso finished in 3rd position overall, before joining the Tech3 Yamaha team in 2012. This season will remain sadly marked by the death of Marco Simoncelli at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Moto2 : Marc Marquez quickly understood how his Moto2 machinery was working but too many mistakes have prevented him from catching up with Stefan Bradl. The son of the 1991's GP250 vice-champion, Helmut Bradl, built his success early in the season ; he'll ride in the MotoGP class in 2012 with the LCR team.

125 cc : 3rd in 2009, vice-champion in 2010, Nico Terol clinched the last 125 cc world championship in history (the class will be replaced by Moto3 from 2012). The Frenchman Johann Zarco took his maiden win in Japan and kept the pressure on Aspar Martinez's rider until the season finale in Valencia.
