Anthony West contends in Grand Prix world championship since 1999. Except the '2001 season, raced on the 500 cc bike, "Antwest" gained a great experience in the 250 cc class. In 2003, as a privateer aboard an Aprilia, he obtained his first ever victory at Assen, in the rain. In 2005, the KTM factory trusted him for its debuts in the 250 cc class. Anthony West finished third at Donington. Back with Aprilia, he knew a very busy '2007 early season. After a season start in the 250 cc world championship, Yamaha called him to replace Kevin Curtain in the World Supersport championship. Very comfortable on the R6, he won two races out of three starts. After conclusive tests on the ZX-RR bike, Anthony West accepted an offer from the Kawasaki factory to replace Olivier Jacque, who had decide to retire, in MotoGP. Race after race, his good results secured his ride for 2008.
