Andrea Dovizioso started racing with minibikes. 125 cc European champion in 2001, the young Italian rider made his Grand Prix debuts the following year and was crowned in 2004. Supported by faithful partners and Honda, he moved to the upper class with the same team. He quickly became one of the best riders and finished his first season in third position behind the experienced Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner. During the 2006 and 2007 seasons, he was the direct contender of Jorge Lorenzo for the world title. Unfortunately, his Honda didn't allow him to be in the Aprilia rider's pace and obtained the symbolic title of vice-champion. In 2008, Andrea Dovizioso starts in MotoGP in a new structure born of the fusion of the JiR and Scot teams. Will Andrea Dovizioso be the rider who will eventually bring good results to the JiR team after Makoto Tamada and Shinya Nakano's flops ?
