Mike di Meglio won the 2002 Prix de l'Avenir, organised by the French motorcycle federation. At the end of the season, he took part in one 125 cc Spanish championship round that he finished at a stunning 3rd position. From 2003, at the age of 15, he was competing his first full world championship season. 28th overall, with only 5 points, the aprenticeship appeared to be tougher than expected. The next season, he did some remarkable feats and, in 2005, took his first win at the Turkish GP aboard a Team Scot's official Honda machinery, reigning champion with Andrea Dovizioso. In 2006, Mike di Meglio raced for a FFM team with world title ambitions but his campaign turned into a disaster. Back with the Team Scot in 2007, his best finish was a 4th place in the wet in Japan. Recruited by Ajo's team to ride a Derbi, the Frenchman lived his 2008 as a rebirth after he thought of retiring from racing. He clinched the title two rounds before the season end, with 4 wins to his credit. In 2009, he joined 250 cc Aspar Martinez's squad, claiming the pole position at Indianiapolis and two podium finishes. Without any convincing result in the new Moto2 series, Mike di Meglio joined the French Tech3 team for 2011.
