News - 2011 WSBK French round : D-5
09/25/2011

As the Italian manufacturer officially withdrew at the end of the last campaign, the 1198 Ducati is far ahead in Carlos Checa's hands. The Spanish rider is about to clinch his first world title at the age of... 38 ! To achieve this, he only has to score 3 points in the last four races (if Marco Melandri wins them all).

Last year, Sylvain Guintoli narrowly missed the pole aboard the Alstare's Suzuki. Disqualified in race 1 as he was battling for a podium finish, he had claimed a fourth position in race 2. Now Liberty Racing's rider, Sylvain Guintoli achieved two top-3 finishes this season. So we can expect great things at Magny-Cours from the best French representaive in the class.
In Supersport, Chaz Davies (Yamaha) is 15 points from the title as there's two rounds left. Fabien Foret is back at the front after a disturbed early season. Winner at Imola, the French rider is still dreaming of title in the Ten Kate team with which one he was crowned in 2002.

Coming next : the report of my day at Magny-Cours and riders profiles updates.
