In 2010, the French World Superbike round regained its status of final, lost for two years at the advantage of the Portmao circuit. The Superbike world title will be perhaps taken at Imola this week end : Max Biaggi (Aprilia) has a 58 point-lead on Leon Haslam (Suzuki). One will have to keep an eye upon the latter's team-mate in the Alstare squad, Sylvain Guintoli. The French rider aims at climbing at least one podium for the last two rounds and will attempt to keep his 8th place even to move ahead of James Toseland in the championship standings. As last year, the fight for the World Supersport title should last until the final round. Since Joan Lascorz got injured at Silverstone, Kenan Sofuoglu and Eugene Laverty, both aboard Hondas, are the only ones to be in a position to pretend to the final win. |
