News - 2010 MotoGP French round : the report
05/27/2010

There are good days and others less. If last year I had met "The Doctor" twice, this time, I didn't manage to approach him. Since my first Grand Prix backstage in 2003, the paddock completely changed. Everything became more organised. Gravels are away, construction works of the Bugatti circuit are amost finished. Areas are clearly separated : working areas, MotoGP and Moto2 hospitalities , living areas. Unfortunately, this makes the autograph "hunt" a little bit more difficult but most of the riders still gladly stop.
Among them, Jorge Lorenzo. On the picture, he's filmed by the Spanish television. The orange lifebelt was a reference to the celebration of his recent win at Jerez. So, except Valentino Rossi and few absents (Alex de Angelis, Hector Barbera and Julian Simon), the balance of my day at Le Mans is very positive. From 9:30, I was in the paddock ; the sun was part of it. I had the good surprise of meeting Nobuatsu Aoki, Suzuki's test rider since 2005, and Ralf Waldmann.
Two years ago, I had made a watercolour of the German rider at the very wet 1995 Grand Prix of Japan. My patience was finally rewarded and I got his sign. I also made Dani Pedrosa, that I hadn't met since 2007, sign !

The other cool time of the day was the visit of the pit of Lucio Cechinello's team. On the Thursday before the race, bikes are rebuilt and the heart of the machineries are visible.
