News - 2008 WSBK French round : D-10
09/25/2008

Troy Bayliss could have clinched the world title last sunday in Vallelunga for his last race in Italy. By taking the third position to Troy Corser, Michel Fabrizio deprived the Yamaha rider of any possibility to fill the gap in the last two rounds. Unfortunately, in the last lap, Troy Bayliss crashed out and didn't manage to finish better than 16th. In Supersport, Andrew Pitt crashed too as his teammate Jonathan Rea earnt his third victory of the season.
The WSBK's final round won't take place in Magny-Cours this year but the championships could find their conclusion in Nièvre. Troy Bayliss is ahead of Troy Corser by 79 points and Noriyuki Haga and Max Neukirchner by 89 points as there are 100 points left to be taken. The situation is rather comfortable but everything is possible. Last year, James Toseland only kept two points on Noriyuki Haga. In Supersport, Andrew Pitt will attempt to get back his early season results and to stop Jonathan Rea, 11 points behind. Joshua Brookes and Broc Parkes can be be crowned too.

2008 will have been a great season, with exciting races every week-end. To make my watercolours, I dived into World Superbike atmosphere and watched all the rounds. I hope to collect many signs. I expect to meet Troy Bayliss one last time, before he retires in Australia, and the former British Suprbikes riders, Ryuichi Kiyonari and Jonathan Rea. You'll read the results in the next report, online in two weeks.
