News - 2007' WSBK French round : D-12
09/25/2007

If Kenan Sofuoglu has already clinched the World Supersport title at Brands Hatch, after an almost perfect season, there's still some suspense left in World Superbike. There are four races left and four riders still can pretend to be champion. First, James Toseland, who leads since the second race of the season, is 41 points ahead of Noriyuki Haga. He would like to earn a second title before joining MotoGP in 2008. The Japanese rider has a thundering end of season. To be vice-champion again ? Everything remains possible for Max Biaggi who is 53 points behind but he will have to be more aggressive during the last races. Troy Bayliss has to expect a miracle to keep his title.
In World Superport, the situation is quite clear. For his second season in the class, the Turkish rider, European Superstock champion in 2005, earned the title and offered his Dutch team, Ten Kate Honda, a sixth championship win in a row. For the rest of the podium, Fabien Foret and Broc Parkes, who will be team mates in 2008 in the Yamaha team, are only separated by 26 points. Sébastien Charpentier, double reigning champion, is hoping to finish this black season the best way and is already looking forward to 2008.

So, see you at Magny-Cours !
