2006-2007 Winter tests - Baa Baa Black Sheep
03/28/2007

Second part of my winter program presentation, these watercolours are preliminary works for a project that I've got in my head since a long time. Not completely finalized yet, I hope to go further in the next months. My idea will be perhaps clearer then.

Before motorbikes, I used to draw planes. Interested in recent History and aviation, "Baa Baa Black Sheep" naturally impassioned me. Today I still look at this TV broadcast with much pleasure. Vella La Cava and Espritos Marcos are names which resound in my memories. Although the scene takes place during the Pacific War, there's no manicheism in this American program. The VMF-214, part of the Marine Corps, carry out their duty, just like their compatriots and their Japanese enemies, undergoing the World War II course.

Here are some representations of Major Boyington's plane : the Vought F4U "Corsair" with its so famous shape : "V" wings and long nose.
